Arrival in Athens of the lecturers and participants.

JUNE 22 - WEDNESDAY

08.00 hrs Departure, by coaches, to Ancient Olympia.

Arrival at Ancient Olympia at approximately 14.00 hrs. Accommodation at the International Olympic Academy. Lunch.

18.30 hrs Opening Ceremony of the works of the 3rd International Session for
Olympic Medallists (Main Lecture Hall "D. Vikelas"). Olympic Anthem.
Address by the President of the International Olympic Academy,
Mr Isidoros KOUVELOS (GRE), Secretary General of the International Committee for the Mediterranean Games and President of the Hellenic Olympic Academy.

Presentation of the Lecturers and Participants.

Lecture by Prof. Kostas GEORGIADIS (GRE), University of Peloponnese, Honorary Dean of the International Olympic Academy, on the subject: "Master’s Degree Programme: Olympic  Studies,  Olympic  Education, Organisation and Management of Olympic Events".
 
Laying of wreaths at the stele of Pierre de COUBERTIN, renovator of the Modern Olympic Games, and at the commemorative monument of John KETSEAS and Carl DIEM, pioneers of the International Olympic Academy.

JUNE 23 - THURSDAY

08.30 hrs       Guided visit to the archaeological site and the archaeological museum of Ancient Olympia.

16.30 hrs       Lecture by Mr Jean DURRY (FRA), Writer, Historian on Sport and Olympism, Member of the IOC Commission for Culture and Olympic Education and Founder of the National Sports Museum of France, on the subject: "Pierre de Coubertin, the first “Olympian”?".

17.00 hrs Discussion.

17.30 hrs Lecture by Mr Duff GIBSON (CAN),  World and Olympic Champion Skeleton, Canadian Skeleton Team Head Coach, on the subject: "The role of Olympians  in the propagation of social values".

18.00 hrs Discussion.

JUNE 24 - FRIDAY

08.30 hrs Lecture by Prof. Galina GORSKAYA (RUS), Kuban State University of Physical Education, Sport and Tourism, Department of Psychology, on the subject: “Olympism and human adaptation to contemporary world”

09.30 hrs Lecture by Prof. George MAVROTAS  (GRE), Assistant Professor, National Technical University of Athens, Ex-captain of the National water polo team participating in 5 Olympic Games, on the subject: "Educational preparation of top performance athletes".

Presentation of participation diplomas. Address on behalf of the Participants. Address on behalf of the Lecturers.
Address and closing of the works of the Session by the President of the International Olympic Academy, ªr Isidoros KOUVELOS (GRE), Secretary General of the International Committee for the Mediterranean Games and President of the Hellenic Olympic Academy.
