The ZOA was established in 2002 with an acting director and a substantive director appointed in 2005. The Academy is operating from within the Education and Culture Commission of the ZOC, which has been running administration courses for a variety of groups from the national sport associations. The Academy Director attended the 8 th International Session for Directors of NOAs in Ancient Olympia, Greece from 18-25 April 2005. The Academy, from within the Education and Culture Commission, mounted an educational and information display at the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show, it participated in the strategic plan review of ZOC, and the Director has been invited to officiate at various sport functions. She also presented a conference paper in September 2005 on the theme, ‘The role of Sport in human factor development'. Currently, the ZOA is concentrating on the spread of ‘Honesty' as a value of the Olympic Movement.
