The National Olympic Academy of Haiti enacted its Constitutional Act following a meeting held on October 26, 2001, where the members of the Olympic Committee of Haiti, the leaders of Federations and Sports Associations and sports intellectuals, former participants in the international sessions of the IOA and some members of the sporting press participated. One month and four days later, an Inaugural General Assembly held on November 30, 2001 at the conference hall of the Association of Industries of Haiti (A.D.I.H), allowed to vote the Statutes and to elect by acclamation a Board of Directors which was renewed in December 2003.

The Board of Directors of the National Olympic Academy of Haiti includes the following five members who are: The President, Rolland Roy, recently deceased, the Vice-President, Mr Joseph Alexandre Dubois, the Secretary-General, Mr Gaetan Mentor, the Treasurer Mrs Carline Choute Bastien and Mrs Valiollah Saint Louis Gilmus.

Each member of this Council took part in at least one international session organized by the International Academy in Ancient Olympia in Greece .

Action plan 2005-2007

1)Structuring of the HOA :

  • 1.a) To reinforce the Board of directors of the HOA.
  • 1.b) To set up the Commissions.
  • 1.c) To establish the head office of the HOA.
  • 1.d) To set up the system of operation of the HOA.

2)Setting up a system of Olympic Continuing Education

  • 2.a) To work out the training schemes of the HOA.
  • 2.b) To define and implement the participation of the HOA in the training schemes
    of the Olympic Committee of Haiti, the National Federations and the SEJSEC.
  • 2.c) To organize the dissemination of information on Olympism.
  • 2.d) To encourage the literary artistic production on the subject of Olympism.

3) Strengthening the bonds with the HOA's partners

  • 3.a) To take part in the activities organized by the sporting movement.
  • 3.b) To make the relationship with the sports press more dynamic.
  • 3.c) To maintain excellent relations with the public and private sector.
  • 3.d) To establish exchanges with young people, athletes and leaders.
