The National Olympic Academy was formally established on Tuesday 1 st February 2000. By this time there have been two different branches of the academy based on the Primary School.
The NOA is intimately associated with the St Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee (SKNOC) and receives its guidance from the President of the SKNOC who serves as the Chair of the Academy and the Assistant Secretary General/SKNOC, Mr Leroy Greene who functions as a Director.

Activities include :

  • Essay competitions on established themes of the Olympic Movement.
  • Discussions related to the Olympic Ideals.
  • Participation in Olympic related Youth Camps (Olympic Games, PASO, Commonwealth Games etc). Preference is given to active participants in the Academy.
  • Participation in Leadership Development Seminars.
  • Delivering presentations to the members of General Assembly/Executive on return from representation overseas.
  • Communication with schools institutions to provide encouragement, enrichment opportunities in order to sustain the partnership between school, study and sports.
  • Active participation in SKNOC generated activities (i.e as ushers, participants in Olympic Day/Week, reading of annual messages from IOC President on National Radio/T.v
  • Determination via competition of :
    1. Design/colour of National uniforms
    2. The person representing the SKNOC at International/Regional Youth Camps.
  • Activation of the “Befriend a Youth” programme as a follow up to participation in Youth Camp
  • Serving as apprentices in the development and establishment of the Olympic Museum and mounting of exhibitions.
  • Use as motivation speakers amongst peers.
