17th International Session for NOAs and NOCs delegates

Introduction

The Session for NOAs and NOCs, covering a wide range of Olympic topics, functions as the driving force in the coordination, planning and implementation of Olympic educational projects and initiatives and builds a strong, knowledgeable and performing network. These annual Forums in Olympia are a point of reference, which create the conditions and opportunities for the NOAs/NOCs to get inspiration and to be provided with tools in order to develop and lead Olympic Education programmes and promote Olympism in their respected countries. It serves as a platform for dialogue, enrichment of knowledge, exchange of experiences and collaboration between the NOCs and the NOAs for promoting Olympism and Olympic Values, for the sharing of the best practices and for getting better insight on diverse educational programmes.

Programme Description

Each National Olympic Academy may enter the Session with one representative, involved with project management and application of Olympic Education programmes or/and the promotion of Olympic Values.

Each National Olympic Committee may enter the Session with one representative, involved with project management and application of Olympic Education programmes.

Upon the submission of the online application form, the delegates from the NOAs as well as the NOCs will be requested to submit a report of specific projects they are going to put forward, after the end of the session.

This could involve the following targets:

Build long-term relations with Ministry of Education or Sports and produce at least 1 specific Olympic Education programme for school kids and PE teachers.

Establish at least 2 seminars for athletes, coaches and officials in cooperation with the National Federations and Sports clubs.

Build relationships with at least 1 University with the objective to organize at least 1 scientific programme for teaching or research.

• Build a communication strategy about their programmes including social media and website to disseminate specific Olympic Education content to their community.

Applications' Deadline

The platform will be open from Tuesday, 30 January 2024 and the final date for enrollment will be Monday, 4 March 2024, after which the registration platform will be closed.

Language

The working languages of the Session are English and French and participants must speak fluently at least one of these languages. In order for applicants to be accepted in the Session they must submit the relevant English or French certificates or be native speakers.

Documents Required to Submit

DIRECTORS SESSION

1. Passport size photo.

2. a report of specific projects delegates are going to put forward, after the completion of the session.

3. Nomination letter by their NOA/NOC in which they refer their position.

4. Copy of their passport/ID.

5. If you agree with the declaration of consent to the processing of personal data, please print and sign this document.

Short Papers/Presentations

NOAs’ PRESENTATIONS

The NOAs and the NOCs are kindly requested to present their annual activities and input on Olympic Education in their countries as well as abroad, through video format, which
a. will be uploaded into a YouTube account and
b. the link should be sent back by 20 April 2024, along with the word document (max. 2 pages) that is going to be published in the IOA's proceedings.

Expenses

A) Registration fees

As from 2022, all participants are required to pay registration fees amounting to 80 euros per person. The payment of the registration fees will be effected via STRIPE. Please kindly note that from 2024 this payment method will be eligible for any transaction (bank transfers will not be accepted).

B) Registration fees

Registration fees for one participant per NOA or NOC will be covered by Olympic Solidarity. The second participant (per NOA or NOC) must cover the participation fees, amounting to 830 Euros per person, via STRIPE. Please kindly note that from 2024 this payment method will be eligible for any transaction (bank transfers will not be accepted).

Each payment should correspond to the registration of one and only participant.

C) Refund Policy

• A full refund will be given up to 80 calendar days prior to the start date of the Session, namely until February 23, 2024.

• A 50% refund will be given for cancellations made 79 to 72 calendar days prior to the start date of the Session, namely February 24, 2024 to March 2, 2024.

• No refund will be granted for cancellations made within 71 calendar days of the start date of the Session, namely from March 3, 2024.

• No refunds will be given for No Shows.

• A full refund will be provided in the event that the Session is cancelled by the International Olympic Academy.

• Refunds are issued by the International Olympic Academy and may take some days, after the refund has been processed, to be received. IOA retains the right of the

return method.

• In the case of an emergency/ extenuating circumstances, special requests may be considered on a case-by-case basis by the International Olympic Academy

D) Transport

Flight tickets:
The full price of the flight tickets (economy class) for one participant per NOA or NOC will be reimbursed by Olympic Solidarity to the NOC after the Session, and upon
receipt of submission of a financial report on RELAY. The IOA will confirm participation of the concerned delegate to Olympic Solidarity. The charges for the second participant concerning the air-ticket should be borne by the NOC.

Local transport:
The IOA will take care of the participants’ local transport strictly from May 13th (date set for the arrival of the participants in Athens) to May 20th (date set for departure).


E) Accommodation/Boarding

Accommodation both in Athens (only for the nights of 13 and 19 May 2023) and in Olympia will be at the charge of the International Olympic Academy. Any additional
overnight stay in Athens must be taken in charge by the participants. Also, please bear in mind that all participants will be allocated mainly in twin rooms, both in Athens and in Olympia.

F) Visa

Participants who need a VISA to enter Greece should address themselves to the Greek Embassy of their country, where they will submit their application along with
an invitation letter from the IOA. Should there be no Greek Embassy in some countries a VISA from an Embassy of any country member of the European Union
could be accepted.

May we remind you once again that any cost concerning the VISA issuance should be borne by the participants themselves.

  • 4. Make sure all documents are uploaded
  • 5. After you have uploaded your documents, ensure we can access the link by pressing the option "anyone with the link can view".
  • 6. Ensure the previous step is done so we can see and review your documents.
  • 7. Copy the shareable link.
  • 8. On the bottom right, press "Upload Documents" button. A pop-up window of your profile will appear.
  • 9. At the bottom section "Upload Documents of the pop-up, please paste the link there and choose which session you are applying to. Your application is then successfully submitted.
  • 10. The IOA support team receives a notice to review your documents.
