
Dr Emmanouil Choustoulakis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sport Management at the University of Peloponnese, specializing in Mathematical Economics with a particular focus on the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in sports. His academic background is interdisciplinary, combining economics, mathematics, ICT, and educational technology.
He has completed postdoctoral research at the same department and holds a PhD from the University of Athens, with a specialization in the Economics of Education and ICT. He also holds an MSc in Digital Systems and E-Learning from the University of Piraeus and a BSc in Economic Science from the same institution. His research output includes more than 90 peer-reviewed scientific publications in international journals, conference proceedings, edited volumes, and monographs, as well as the authorship of four books.
His scientific interests focus on the intersection of ICT with educational effectiveness and innovation, digital learning environments, technology innovation management, and the digital transformation of leadership—primarily applied to the domains of sports and education. He has actively participated in numerous national and European research projects, utilizing advanced economic, statistical, and mathematical models.
Dr. Choustoulakis has over ten years of teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Greek universities. He has taught a wide array of courses, including Mathematical Economics, Sports Economics, Management and Marketing of Non-Profit Organizations, Digital Applications in Economics and Management, Informatics, E-Learning, Teaching Methodology, and Innovation Management. His teaching is characterized by innovative pedagogical approaches and extensive use of digital tools.
He is an active member of several international scientific associations (AACE, ACM, EEA, PME), serves on editorial boards and review panels of scientific journals, and participates in organizing and scientific committees of conferences and training programs. He is a certified ICT project evaluator by the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation and a registered member of the Economic Chamber of Greece and the Evaluators Registry of the Information Society S.A.
His professional experience in the private sector includes senior positions in human resource strategy, research and development, and the design of innovative educational programs. He is fluent in three foreign languages and contributes actively to the advancement of academic knowledge, educational innovation, and digital strategy in higher education and sports.
