
Constantinos Cartalis is Professor of Environmental and Climate Science at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Has served as Secretary General for the Olympic Games at the Ministry of Culture (2000-2004) and Secretary of the Interministerial Committee led by the Prime minister of Greece for the Coordination of the Preparation for the Olympic Games 2004. He has been member of the Parliament of Greece (2007-2012) and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for the Environment. In 2005 he was awarded by IOC with the Olympic Order for his outstanding services to the Olympic Movement. At present he is Acting member of the European Scientific Advisory Board on Climate Change as well asof the respective Scientific Committee in Greece. Has acted as UNDP Technical Expert on Vulnerability Assessment and Adaptation, member of the Bureau of the UNFCCC Subsidiary Body for the Implementation of the Paris Agreement and vice President of the Council of the International Bureau of Education UNESCO .
