In Mauritius, the measures taken by the State to limit gatherings due to the pandemic and the closed schools imposed a change in the celebrations of the Olympic Day. The Olympic Academy of Mauritius used Social Media to spread the message of Olympism.The President of the Academy, Sanjaye Goboodun, participated in an international online seminar organized by Jammu University Cluster in India to celebrate the Olympic Day. The topic of the seminar was: "International Seminar for the empowerment of society through Education, the Youth Olympic Games and the Olympic values". Sanjaye Goboodun’s presentation was: "Strengthening Olympic Values in Society and its Practicality".On 7 April 2019, the Olympic Fun Day was 7–15 years. It was addressed to children from poor families who do not have many opportunities to engage in sports. People with physical disabilities also participated, a fact that enhanced the education of children in the respect and social inclusion of fellow human beings facing problems, under the umbrella of sports.This date was also used for the celebration of the 193rd anniversary of the first modern Olympic Games in Athens in 1896 (April 6), but also in conjunction with the World Day of Sport for Development and Peace. Furthermore, the 7th of April marks the celebration of the World Health Day and that is why a medical workshop with the team of First Aiders was included in the programme, to raise children's awareness of their health but also to learn the basic first aid skills that can be useful while training in their sport.The programme covered the following sports: archery, Para basketball, fencing, Kids Athletics, rugby and wrestling/grappling. Literary discussions were also held with the National Olympic Academy on Olympism and Olympic Education, arts working groups were formed, a film about the Olympic Games was shown, a medical workshop and a zumba music session were held. Medals and commemorative T-shirts were given to all the children, while complimentary food and refreshments were offered.
