Memorandum of Cooperation between EPATHLA and the IOA
A memorandum of cooperation between the Greek National Platform for Sport Integrity and the International Olympic Academy was signed today by the Secretary General of Sport and President of EPATHLA, George Mavrotas and the President of the IOA, Isidoros Kouvelos. The aim is to strengthen sport integrity by developing joint actions for the education and awareness of young children on the values of Olympism, while utilizing the unique facilities in Ancient Olympia.
Mr Mavrotas in his statements underlined the above by stressing:
"Our country is the birthplace of sport based on values and sport integrity is the most important of these values. Our cooperation with the IOA aims to support education and awareness actions on sports integrity and tackling games’ manipulation, an ever-growing threat to sport, while taking advantage of the unique facilities of the "birth land", Ancient Olympia, and giving a universal dimension to these activities. I would like to thank the IOA and its President, Isidoros Kouvelos, for their immediate response and cooperation."
The IOA President, for his part, revealed that an international conference is planned to take place in Ancient Olympia with the aim of diffusing the Olympic Values.
As Mr. Kouvelos characteristically said:
"Today begins a cooperation of EPATHLA with the IOA, the guardian of Olympic Values, aiming to strengthen the integrity in sport. We look forward to organizing the first international conference in Ancient Olympia, so that the teaching and acceptance of the Olympic Values and especially sport integrity, which is the most important factor for sports, can be implemented and advanced."
The signing of the memorandum was also attended by Dionysis Gangas (advisor to the IOA President and IOA development projects consultant), Agi Kasoumi (member of the Education and Awareness team of EPATHLA) and Vasilis Keramaris (coordinator of the Petition Evaluation team of EPATHLA).

Un mémorandum de coopération entre la Plateforme nationale pour l’intégrité du sport et l’Académie Internationale Olympique a été signé aujourd’hui par le Secrétaire général des Sports et Président de l’EPATHLA, George Mavrotas et le président de l’AIO, Isidoros Kouvelos. L’objectif est de renforcer l’intégrité du sport en développant des actions conjointes pour l’éducation et la sensibilisation des jeunes enfants aux valeurs de l’Olympisme, tout en utilisant les installations uniques de l’ancienne Olympie.
C’est ce sur quoi M. Mavrotas a insisté dans ses déclarations, en soulignant :
«Notre pays est le berceau du sport fondé sur des valeurs, et l’intégrité sportive est la plus importante d’entre elles. Notre coopération avec l’AIO vise à soutenir des actions d’éducation et de sensibilisation sur l’intégrité sportive et la lutte contre la manipulation des jeux. Une menace toujours croissante pour le sport, tout en exploitant les installations uniques de la «terre natale», l’ancienne Olympie, et en donnant une dimension universelle à ces activités. Je remercie l’AIO et son Président, Isidoros Kouvelos, pour leur réponse immédiate et leur coopération.»
Le président de l’AIO, pour sa part, a révélé qu’une conférence internationale est prévue dans l’ancienne Olympie dans le but de transmettre les valeurs olympiques.
Comme l’a dit à juste titre M. Kouvelos:
«Aujourd’hui commence une coopération d’EPATHLA avec l’AIO, la gardienne des valeurs olympiques, afin de renforcer l’intégrité dans le sport. Nous sommes impatients d’organiser la première conférence internationale en ancienne Olympie, afin que l’enseignement et l’acceptation des valeurs olympiques et en particulier de l’intégrité sportive, qui est la chose la plus importante pour le sport, puissent être mis en œuvre et promus.»
Dionysis Gangas (conseiller du président de l’AIO et des programmes de développement de l’AIO), Agi Kasoumi (membre de l’équipe d’éducation et de sensibilisation de l’EPATHLA) et Vasilis Keramaris (coordinateur de l’équipe d’évaluation des pétitions de l’EPATHLA) ont également assisté à la signature du mémorandum.

Μνημόνιο συνεργασίας της Ε.Π.ΑΘΛ.Α με τη ΔΟΑ
Μνημόνιο συνεργασίας ανάμεσα στην Εθνική Πλατφόρμα Αθλητικής Ακεραιότητας και τη Διεθνή Ολυμπιακή Ακαδημία, υπογράφηκε σήμερα από τον γγΑ και πρόεδρο της Ε.Π.ΑΘΛ.Α., Γιώργο Μαυρωτά και τον πρόεδρο της Δ.Ο.Α., Ισίδωρο Κούβελο.
Στόχος η ενίσχυση της ακεραιότητας του αθλητισμού με την ανάπτυξη κοινών δράσεων για την εκπαίδευση και ευαισθητοποίηση των νέων παιδιών, στις αξίες του Ολυμπισμού, αξιοποιώντας παράλληλα και τις μοναδικές εγκαταστάσεις της Αρχαίας Ολυμπίας.
Σε αυτό στάθηκε στις δηλώσεις του ο κ. Μαυρωτάς, τονίζοντας:
«Η χώρα μας είναι η γενέτειρα του αθλητισμού που στηρίζεται σε αξίες και η αθλητική ακεραιότητα είναι η βασικότερη από αυτές. Η συνεργασία μας με τη Δ.Ο.Α έχει σκοπό να στηρίξει δράσεις εκπαίδευσης και ευαισθητοποίησης για την αθλητική ακεραιότητα και την αντιμετώπιση της χειραγώγησης αγώνων. Μιας ολοένα διογκούμενης απειλής για τον αθλητισμό, αξιοποιώντας παράλληλα και τις μοναδικές εγκαταστάσεις της «γενέθλιας γης», της Αρχαίας Ολυμπίας και προσδίδοντας οικουμενική διάσταση στις δραστηριότητες αυτές. Ευχαριστώ τη Δ.Ο.Α. και τον Πρόεδρό της Ισίδωρο Κούβελο, για την άμεση ανταπόκριση και συνεργασία».
Ο πρόεδρος της Δ.Ο.Α από την πλευρά του αποκάλυψε ότι, προγραμματίζεται η υλοποίηση ενός διεθνούς συνεδρίου στην Αρχαία Ολυμπία με στόχο τη μεταλαμπάδευση των Ολυμπιακών Αξιών.
Όπως είπε χαρακτηριστικά ο κ. Κούβελος:
«Σήμερα ξεκινάει μια συνεργασία της Ε.Π.ΑΘΛ.Α. για την ενίσχυση της ακεραιότητας στον αθλητισμό με την Δ.Ο.Α που είναι ο θεματοφύλακας των Ολυμπιακών Αξιών. Εμείς προσδοκούμε τη διοργάνωση του πρώτου διεθνούς συνεδρίου στην Αρχαία Ολυμπία, ώστε να υλοποιηθεί και να προχωρήσει η διδαχή και η αποδοχή των Ολυμπιακών Αξιών και κυρίως της αθλητικής ακεραιότητας που είναι ότι πιο σπουδαίο για τον αθλητισμό».
Στην υπογραφή του μνημονίου παρέστησαν ακόμη o Διονύσης Γάγγας (σύμβουλος του προέδρου και των προγραμμάτων ανάπτυξης της ΔΟΑ), η Άγη Κασούμη (μέλος της ομάδας Εκπαίδευσης και Ευαισθητοποίησης της Ε.Π.ΑΘΛ.Α.) και ο Βασίλης Κεραμάρης (συντονιστής της ομάδας Αξιολόγησης Αναφορών της Ε.Π.ΑΘΛ.Α.).
