Το Προχωρημένο Δίπλωμα Ολυμπιακών Σπουδών που διοργανώθηκε από την Ολυμπιακή Ακαδημία του Μπαχρέιν σε συνεργασία με τη Διεθνή Ολυμπιακή Ακαδημία, ολοκληρώθηκε με μια συγκινητική τελετή με την παρουσία της ΑΕ Σεΐχη Salman Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Αντιπροέδρου της Γενικής Αθλητικής Αρχής, της ΑΕ Σεΐχη Issa Bin Ali Khalifa, Αντιπροέδρου της Ολυμπιακής Επιτροπής του Μπαχρέιν, του κ. Faris Mustafa Al-Kooheji, Γενικού Γραμματέα της Ολυμπιακής Επιτροπής του Μπαχρέιν, του Δρ. Μάκη Ασημακόπουλου, Διευθυντή της ΔΟΑ, της κας Αλεξάνδρας Καραΐσκου, Υπεύθυνης για τη ΔΟΑ των Eθνικών Ολυμπιακών Ακαδημιών καθώς πολλών προσωπικοτήτων από το Ολυμπιακό και Αθλητικό Κίνημα στο Μπαχρέιν.
Το πρώτο βήμα έγινε την περασμένη χρονιά με την υπογραφή του Μνημονίου Συνεργασίας μεταξύ της Ολυμπιακής Ακαδημίας του Μπαχρέιν και της Διεθνούς Ολυμπιακής Ακαδημίας και κορυφώθηκε με τον επιτυχημένο σχεδιασμό και εφαρμογή ενός εκπαιδευτικού προγράμματος για πρώτη φορά στο Μπαχρέιν, που απευθύνεται σε αξιωματούχους από τις Εθνικές Ομοσπονδίες και την Ολυμπιακή Επιτροπή του Μπαχρέιν. Η πρωτοβουλία αυτή έχει ενταχθεί στη νέα εκπαιδευτική στρατηγική προσέγγιση της ΔΟΑ παγκοσμίως και αφορά την ενίσχυση του εκπαιδευτικού ρόλου των Ακαδημιών και την ανάπτυξη του δικτύου τους.
Το Προχωρημένο Δίπλωμα Ολυμπιακών Σπουδών ήταν ένα αξιοσημείωτο ταξίδι για όλους τους συμμετέχοντες, ενισχύοντας τη βαθύτερη κατανόηση των Ολυμπιακών Αξιών και της εφαρμογής τους σε διάφορους τομείς. Επιπλέον, οι συμμετέχοντες εμβάθυναν σε ένα ευρύ φάσμα θεμάτων τα οποία πρόσφεραν βαθιές γνώσεις για τα παγκόσμια ζητήματα που αντιμετωπίζει το Ολυμπιακό Κίνημα. Οι συναρπαστικές διαλέξεις, μέσω οκτώ ενοτήτων, από 16 διακεκριμένους καθηγητές και εμπειρογνώμονες από διάφορα μέρη του κόσμου, τα διαδραστικά εργαστήρια και οι συζητήσεις που έγιναν, εξόπλισαν τους συμμετέχοντες με μια ολιστική προσέγγιση και εξασφάλισαν ότι οι συμμετέχοντες δεν θα γίνονταν μόνο γνώστες των Ολυμπιακές Αξιών αλλά θα αποκτούσαν και επίγνωση των σύγχρονων θεμάτων που επηρεάζουν το παγκόσμιο αθλητικό τοπίο.

Ένα από τα βασικά πλεονεκτήματα του Προχωρημένου Διπλώματος Ολυμπιακών Σπουδών ήταν η εστίασή του στην ενίσχυση των ηγετικών δεξιοτήτων. Η δομή του προγράμματος σχεδιάστηκε σχολαστικά για να παρέχει στους συμμετέχοντες τα εργαλεία και τις τεχνικές που είναι απαραίτητες για να γίνουν αποτελεσματικοί ηγέτες στους αντίστοιχους τομείς τους. Οι ενότητες για τη στρατηγική διαχείριση, την επικοινωνία και τις ασκήσεις συγκρότησης ομάδας επέτρεψαν στους συμμετέχοντες να βελτιώσουν τις ηγετικές τους ικανότητες, καλλιεργώντας ένα πνεύμα συνεργασίας που είναι απαραίτητο τόσο στο Ολυμπιακό Κίνημα όσο και στο ευρύτερο επαγγελματικό περιβάλλον. Επιπλέον, το πρόγραμμα έδωσε μεγάλη έμφαση στην οικονομική διαχείριση και βιωσιμότητα καθώς και στον ρόλο του αθλητή στην κοινωνία, λαμβάνοντας υπόψη τη διασταύρωση του αθλητισμού με ευρύτερα κοινωνικά, πολιτιστικά και ηθικά ζητήματα.
Το Προχωρημένο Δίπλωμα Ολυμπιακών Σπουδών ήταν μια σπουδαία εμπειρία για όλους τους εμπλεκόμενους, όπως τόνισε στην ομιλία του ο Διευθυντής της ΔΟΑ, Δρ Μάκης Ασημακόπουλος: «Είχατε αυτή τη μοναδική ευκαιρία να εμπνευστείτε από τους εξαιρετικούς Καθηγητές και τη Γνώση που σας μετέδωσαν. Πιστεύω ότι τώρα έχετε αποκτήσει τα κατάλληλα εργαλεία για να διαπρέψετε στην εργασία, αλλά το πιο σημαντικό, για να γίνετε καλύτεροι άνθρωποι στην καθημερινότητά σας! Γιατί αυτό μπορούν να μας προσφέρουν οι Ολυμπιακές Αξίες! Να γίνουμε πιο άνθρωποι! Γιατί για να γίνει ο κόσμος καλύτερος, χρειάζεται δράση και αλλαγή! Και η αλλαγή ξεκινά πάντα από εσάς! Αυτό το εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα σηματοδοτεί ένα σημαντικό βήμα προς τα εμπρός στη συνεργασία μεταξύ της Ολυμπιακής Ακαδημίας του Μπαχρέιν και της Διεθνούς Ολυμπιακής Ακαδημίας, θέτοντας μια ισχυρή βάση για μελλοντικές εκπαιδευτικές προσπάθειες.»

Το Προχωρημένο Δίπλωμα Ολυμπιακών Σπουδών ολοκληρώθηκε στο Μπαχρέιν με μεγάλη επιτυχία
The Advanced Diploma in Olympic Studies, organized by the Bahrain Olympic Academy in collaboration with the International Olympic Academy, has concluded with a heartwarming and memorable ceremony with the presence of HH Sheikh Salman Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice Chairman of the General Sports Authority, HH Sheikh Issa Bin Ali Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, Mr Faris Mustafa Al-Kooheji, Secretary General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, Dr Makis Asimakopoulos, Director of the IOA, Ms Alexandra Karaiskou, IOA Head of the NOAs, as well as eminent personalities from the Olympic and Sports Movement in Bahrain.
The first step taken last year, marked by the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Bahrain Olympic Academy and the International Olympic Academy, has culminated in the successful planning and implementation of an educational programme for the first time in Bahrain, addressed to officials from National Federations and the Bahrain Olympic Committee. This initiative has been placed under the IOA new educational strategic approach being adopted abroad, specifically with regard to the enhancement of the NOAs educational role worldwide and the growth of their network.
The Diploma in Olympic Studies has been a remarkable journey for all participants, fostering a deeper understanding of the Olympic Values and their application across various fields. Moreover, the participants delved into a wide array of topics that offered profound insights into the current global issues facing the Olympic Movement. Engaging lectures, through 8 modules, by 16 distinguished professors and experts from different parts of the world, interactive workshops, and thought-provoking discussions equipped the participants with a perspective of a holistic approach and ensured that participants were not only well-versed in the Olympic Values, but also aware of the contemporary issues that influence the global sporting landscape.
One of the key strengths of the Diploma in Olympic Studies was its focus on enhancing leadership skills. The structure of the programme was meticulously designed to provide participants with the tools and techniques necessary to become effective leaders in their respective fields. Modules on strategic management, communication, and team-building exercises enabled participants to refine their leadership abilities, fostering a collaborative spirit that is essential in both the Olympic Movement and the broader professional environment. In addition, the programme placed a strong emphasis on financial management and sustainability as well as the role of the athlete in society, considering the intersection of sport with broader social, cultural and ethical issues.
The comprehensive nature of the Diploma in Olympic Studies also extended to strategic management. Participants learned to develop and implement effective strategies within sports organizations, understanding the importance of planning, resource allocation, and performance evaluation. These skills are vital for the successful administration of sports programmes and initiatives, particularly within the Olympic framework where strategic vision and operational excellence are paramount. Finally, the role of sport has been analyzed as a vehicle for fostering dialogue, understanding and cooperation across borders, from soft power to cultural diplomacy.
The Advanced Diploma in Olympic Studies has been an enriching and transformative experience for all involved. As the IOA Director, Dr Makis Asimakopoulos, stressed in his address speech:
“You had this unique opportunity to get inspired by the excellent Professors and the Knowledge they transmitted to you. I believe you have acquired now the right tools to excel yourselves at work, but most importantly, to become better persons in your everyday lives! Because this is what the Olympic Values can offer to us! To become more human! Because in order to make the world a better place, it requires action and change! And change always starts within yourself!
This educational programme has marked a significant step forward in the collaboration between the Bahrain Olympic Academy and the International Olympic Academy, setting a strong foundation for future educational endeavors.
